Explore the abundance of fly fishing opportunities on the beautiful beaches of Puget Sound. In this class, anglers will learn the techniques and strategies used to successfully fly fish for sea-run cutthroat trout and salmon from the beach. Topics covered will include how to choose a fishing location, reading beaches to find fish, fish behavior and movement, understanding tides, useful fly casting techniques, and equipment considerations for this type of fly fishing. After two evening sessions in a classroom environment, the final class will take place on the beach for on-the-water instruction and a morning of fishing.
Limited to six anglers per instructor. Participants will need a valid WA saltwater fishing license, waders and wading boots, 5-7 weight fly rod with reel and floating or intermediate-sinking line, leaders, sunglasses and flies.
