Scientific Anglers' Headstart Line is their Mastery Series line for beginning or occasional anglers. The line is a bit heavier than standard lines to help with loading the rod. It also features a very forgiving front taper designed to turn over easily with flies of all sizes. In addition, the Headstart line has a "Telecast Bump" on the line, which is a small raised area on the running line that tells you by feel when you should pick-up the line and recast. But just because this is a less expensive line designed for less experienced anglers, there is no compromise when it comes to technology and performance. The Headstart line still features SA's AST for ultimate slickness, great floatation, and a welded streamlined loop on the end for easy attachment of leaders without knots. Color is Optic Yellow.
