The Redington Rise Reels are the new, updated version of the Redington CD Reels that we offered for years. We absolutely love the changes Redington made for 2009. The Rise reels are much lighter and are more attractive than the older CD reels yet they have the same drag system and internal design that was so dependable, we didn't see a single CD reel come back in for repairs in all the years we sold them. The Rise is starting off just as dependable as the CD but its lighter weight and better looks make it even better.

The Rise reels are machined aluminum reels with a beefy cork/Teflon drag system, a mid- arbor spool design, and an extra large roller clutch. The Rise is perfect for freshwater or saltwater environments.

The Redington Rise is a solid, proven reel that is twice the reel of some similarly priced reels from competing brands. Give the Rise a shot if you are looking for a less expensive machined aluminum reel that you can depend on.

Reel capacities below are are based on floating lines and 20 lb. backing. For 8-weight lines, we suggest considering the 9/10 sized reel, especially if you will be using 30 lb. backing and/or a VersiTip fly line.
