The Ross Flyrise is a fantastic reel for the angler that wants to keep within a budget.  It is built around the same drag system as their much higher-priced Evolution LT reels but is a cast aluminum reel instead of a machined aluminum reel.  Although machined aluminum reels will always be a superior (and also more expensive) product, the Ross Flyrise has a feel and finish that is much nicer than many cast aluminum reels. 

The Flyrise is an outstanding value and is our choice for the best reel on the market at the $100-ish price point.
