The Ross Flystart has been a good reel for us at the shop for anglers that are new to the sport and are looking to get into the sport with minimal investment. The Flystart is made from a 1-piece cast aluminum frame and large arbor, 2-piece cast spool. The drag system utilizes a Delrin polymer for a drag that is smooth beyond this reels price point. The Flystart has a corrosion resistant electrostatic coated finish and is designed for freshwater use but not ideal for saltwater environments. It converts easily for either left-hand or right-hand retrieve and features a quick releasing spool. If you're looking for a dependable reel at an inexpensive price point, consider the Ross Flystart as an excellent option.
