Product Description

The new Dec Hogan Spey rods from Echo were introduced in 2008 and have created quite a bit of excitement. They are a moderately priced full-flexing rod that is nicely suited to Skagit-style lines and mid-length lines. Their full flex allows them to easily load yet they have plenty of power to launch your fly to the far bank. They are also good looking rods with a natural carbon-gray colored blank, carbon-fiber reel seat, black thread wraps with green accent wraps, and nice cork grips. They come with a life-time original owner warranty and a nice Cordura covered rod tube.

    • Model: 4119-4x
    • Length: 11' 9"
    • Line: 4wt
    • Pieces: 4
This little 11' 9" 4-weight is perfectly suited for serious streamer fishing for trout or for small, half-pounder steelhead such as those on the Rogue and Klamath. Even average sized trout will be a hoot on this rod and small steelhead will be a blast. Skagit line weight recommendation: 270 - 390 grains
    • Model: 5122-4x
    • Length: 12' 2"
    • Line: 5wt
    • Pieces: 4
The Dec Hogan 12' 2" 5-weight is a nice rod for smaller summer steelhead or swinging streamers for large trout. It is also large enough to cast sink-tips all day and will feel at home on small to medium sized rivers. This is a good rod for the angler that wants a rod primarily for trout but also light steelheading. Skagit line weight recommendation: 330 - 450 grains
    • Model: 6126-4x
    • Length: 12' 6"
    • Line: 6wt
    • Pieces: 4
The Dec Hogan DH6126 is a terrific light summer steelhead rod that is perfectly suited to medium sized rivers like the Grand Ronde, Klickitat, Morice, Rogue and Kalama. It will throw good-sized flies and will fish sink-tips comfortably, yet is light, not too long and feels great casting all day long. Skagit line weight recommendation: 390 - 510 grains
    • Model: 7130-4x
    • Length: 13' 0"
    • Line: 7wt
    • Pieces: 4
The Dec Hogan DH7130-4x is a 13-foot 7-weight rod that is ideal for summer steelheading on medium to large rivers -- such as the Snake, Clearwater, Skykomish, Deschutes, North Umpqua, Bulkley, etc. It is also heavy enough and versitile enough for light winter steelhead fishing as it will feel perfectly at home with sink-tips and all but the largest of flies. This is a great first rod for the guy that plans to mainly target summer steelhead on rivers of medium to large size. Skagit line weight recommendation: 480 - 590 grains
    • Model: 8133-4x
    • Length: 13' 3"
    • Line: 8wt
    • Pieces: 4
Where we live, up in NW Washington, this would be the perfect "Do It All" rod. It is heavy enough to fish heavy sinktips and cast big flies all day on rivers the size of the Skagit, but it isn't too big to fish on the North Fork Stillaguamish in the summer. If you want a great winter steelhead rod, or a very versitile rod that leans towards larger rivers and larger fish, the 8133-4 is your best bet. Skagit line weight recommendation: 540 - 660 grains
    • Model: 9136-4x
    • Length: 13' 6"
    • Line: 9wt
    • Pieces: 4
For that angler that is looking for a big river, winter steelhead rod, the DH9136-4 is right up your alley. This rod will feel right at home on winter steelhead rivers where heavy sinktips, big flies, and big fish are the rule. This would also be a terrific rod for king salmon in Alaska. Skagit line weight recommendation: 600 - 720 grains
