Steelhead Fly Fishing

classes-steelhead.jpgLearn the skills to effectively fly fish for the Northwest's most celebrated gamefish. The steelhead is perhaps the most challenging and revered fly rod quarry in all of North America and the knowledge of how to catch them with a fly does not come easily. In this course anglers will learn the most successful techniques for fly fishing for steelhead, the very important skills of how to identify good steelhead holding water, presentation techniques, using Spey rods, fly patterns and timing steelhead runs on our local rivers. Includes a half-day of on-the-water instruction on one of our local steelhead rivers.

Limited to four anglers per instructor. Participants will need a fishing license, waders and boots for the on-the-water portion of the class.

Each class includes the following three sessions:

  • Classroom: Wednesday, 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
  • Classroom: Thursday, 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
  • On-the-river Instruction: Saturday, 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
