Rio Gallegos Waders are Patagonia’s top-of-the-line wader and are full of impressive features. They are a waterproof/breathable wader that is light, super breathable, and durable. Patagonia uses their time-tested H2No Hydrostorm barrier to keep the water out while still keeping you comfortable.

The Rio Gallegos is a three-layer wader, but features a very tough, durable outer fabric in high wear areas. The philosophy here is to rely on a tougher outer fabric in those high-wear areas instead of adding additional layers of fabric which also add weight and reduce breathability.

The Patagonia Rio Gallegos Waders also feature merino wool inside the 3mm neoprene booties. The merino wool is lined in a grid pattern to increase warmth and air transfer while keeping your feet dry and comfortable.

One of the coolest features on Patagonia waders is their suspender system. It is easy to drop the waders from chest high to waist high without taking the suspenders off. This feature is great for warm days or for that long hike to your secret fishing spot. It is even more handy for dropping the waders down to take a leak without having to take your rain jacket off.

Other noteworthy features on the Rio Gallegos Waders include a waterproof inside chest pocket for your phone or wallet, removable knee pads on the inside of the waders, an outer chest pocket with a water resistant zipper, exterior reinforcement tape on the seam of the legs and crotch, a field repair kit, and a comfortable stretch wading belt.
