The new "StreamTread" Vibram rubber-soled Rivershed Boots from Simms were introduced in 2009 and are a great addition to the very popular Rivershed Boots that were introduced in 2008. Not only do they look great, they are incredibly comfortable. They feature a full neoprene inner liner which makes them comfortable and easy to get on and off. They are completely synthetic and are designed to be easy to clean and minimize the risk of spreading invasive species. They have a molded toe box with a rubber toe cap for protection and durability. The shoe laces are extra strength long-lasting laces. The Rivershed is also surprisingly light, especially considering it is a very supportive shoe and the durability of its construction. The StreamTread rubber sole is great around an in the stream. They have surprising traction on mossy rocks and are very, very nice walking on muddy river banks or in snow. We recommend the use of Simms' Hard Bite Boot Studs to quickly convert these boots into a studded sole version for the best traction in the stream.
